BetGames Goes Live in Ontario with New License

Award-winning provider of live casino content, BetGames, has just informed the public that it has received a license from the Alcohol and Gaming Commission of Ontario (AGCO).

The authorization will see the live dealer brand bringing its suite of games available to brands that are already live in the province. The provider is already known for its successful product suite and award-winning games such as lotto-resembling releases game shows – Lucky 7, Lucky 5, and the Entain-exclusive Starzle.

The company is one of the most recent entrants into the fast-growing Ontario market, which grew 64.8% from $CA162m (£104.1m/€120m/$118.1m) in Q1 to $CA267m in Q2. This market has started its sixth month of trading, having started on 4 April 2022.

BetGames is licensed to provide its products in markets regulated by the Malta Gaming Authority (MGA), the UK Gambling Commission, and South Africa.

Thanks to the new entry, BetGames will join other gaming brands that have been recently licensed to perform business in the region, including L7 Entertainment, the World Series of Poker, Apollo, BetSafe, and Pala.

Speaking on the latest move, BetGames’ CEO Andreas Koeberl said:

“We’re absolutely delighted to have gained a supplier license for the Ontario market, allowing us to not only expand our global reach but entertain a new demographic of players with our casino, numbers-betting, and sports-betting products,” 

“Ontario’s regulated market is showing a lot of promise, we’re thrilled to be onboard and part of the excitement around this recently regulated market.”

Meanwhile, AGCO has announced that starting from 31 October it will act against unlicensed companies offering their services in Ontario. According to their statement:

 “As with any instance of non-compliance, the AGCO will take appropriate regulatory action against any registrant that does not meet this standard (once it comes into force).”
