The Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission, the regulatory agency for gambling in the province of Alberta, has announced the signing of a new agreement with International Game Technology, one of the most prominent developers of games and software solutions for the gambling industry.

International Game Technology handles the deal with the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission (AGLC) through its Canadian subsidiary. The two parties already had a contract and the new agreement extends its validity until July 2026.

Moreover, the new deal will see International Game Technology undertake a substantial upgrade of the video lottery central system that the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission operates. The lottery system will be updated to the latest version of INTELLIGEN, the software that was developed by International Game Technology. The latest version includes improved stability and more accurate network diagnostics.

Nick Khin, the Chief Operating Officer of International Game Technology, expressed his belief that the INTELLIGEN software is perfectly capable of supporting the volume and complexity of the operations of video lottery terminals throughout the province of Alberta.

The new agreement will also see International Game Technology deliver several iLING Ultra devices to the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission. These devices are retailer site controllers that feature an updated user interface.

The two parties have been working together since 2003, when International Game Technology started to deliver commercial casino cabinets and games to the Alberta Gaming, Liquor and Cannabis Commission.
