Great Canadian Entertainment, one of the largest gaming and entertainment companies in the country, has announced the complete opening of its new casino resort located in downtown Toronto, the capital of Ontario.
The Pickering Casino Resort was partially opened in 2021, when the casino opened to the public. Now the resort is complete with a new hotel with 275 rooms, added to the casino that spans across a surface of 96,000 square feet. The casino features 2,200 slot machines, 140 gaming terminals, a retail sportsbook and a theater which can accommodate 2,500 spectators. The casino resort cost half a billion dollars to build.
The hotel guests will be able to enjoy free Wi-Fi internet access and the rooms also have a fridge installed, a secure safe and smart TVs of 55 inches. Moreover, all guests will receive complimentary enclosed parking.
Speaking about the inauguration of Pickering Casino Resort, Matthew Anfinson, Chief Executive Officer of Great Canadian Entertainment, underlined that the venue is “a great example” of the company’s “vision to introduce multi-venue attractions that anchor the very best in hospitality, dining, and entertainment.”
The Chief Executive Officer also pointed out that the resort creates over 1,000 jobs and will “provide significant economic benefit for the Durham region.” Matthew Anfinson was recently named as Chief Executive Officer of Great Canadian entertainment after Anthony Rodio retired from the position.
