Playtech and MGM Resorts International have teamed up to create MGM Live, a groundbreaking live casino project that brings the iconic Las Vegas experience directly to online gaming audiences around the world. The collaboration, revealed during the recent SBC Summit, is set to redefine online gaming by streaming live casino products from MGM’s flagship properties on the Vegas Strip.

At the respective press conference, Christian Stuart, SVP and Head of Interactive at MGM Resorts International, shared the company’s enthusiasm about the new project. “We’ve been exploring the live dealer space for a while, and it represents a significant portion of operator revenue, ranging from 20 to 30%. Our distinctive edge is our strong presence in Las Vegas, and we want to bring that Vegas excitement to regulated markets worldwide,” Stuart explained.

He went on to highlight the significance of leveraging MGM’s assets, stating, “MGM has billions of dollars invested in Las Vegas, but until now, these assets were only accessible in person. Partnering with Playtech allows us to expand our reach and offer the Vegas experience to a global audience. Now, players can enjoy the energy and excitement of Las Vegas from anywhere.”

Playtech, a leading igaming technology provider, played a central role in developing the live casino products for MGM Live. The games are broadcast directly from two of MGM’s most iconic venues: Bellagio and MGM Grand. Shimon Akad, Playtech’s Chief Commercial Officer, expressed his excitement about working with such a prestigious partner, saying, “MGM Resorts is a world-renowned casino operator, and partnering with them to deliver something the industry hasn’t seen before is a proud moment for us. Stuart highlighted that MGM Live content will be delivered in a fully regulated manner to any jurisdiction they enter. “We take great pride in ensuring that we operate within the guidelines of each market. MGM holds licenses in all the jurisdictions we operate in, which comes with a significant responsibility,” he said.

Akad echoed these sentiments, emphasizing that all content will be released following strict compliance protocols. “We’ve received a great deal of interest from licensees worldwide who are eager to offer MGM Live to their players. However, we are committed to doing everything by the book, ensuring responsible gaming is at the forefront of our efforts,” he explained.
